1.  Independent Reading -- Please have your independent reading book out and read for approximately 10 minutes.

2.  Your Goodreads Book Review is due Monday, Oct 12th.  I will give you time on Friday to get it posted on Goodreads.  Compose a draft of your review before then following the RUBRIC. You will receive a hard copy of the rubric today, and there is a link to it on my blog under "Important Links."

4.  "Federigo's Falcon" -- Please open your English Journal in your Google Drive  and complete the following written response to "Federigo's Falcon":
      1.  Begin by referring to the title and the author and make
           a statement about the theme. (What truth does this story
           express?)
     2.   Give a brief synopsis of the story.
     3.   Discuss at least two cultural influences in the story.
     4.  Discuss character motivation for each of the main 
          characters.
     5.  Conclude by giving your opinion of the story.
