Good Morning!

 Please put your cell phones completely out of sight for the FULL duration of the class.  Please do not have me remind you of this. NOTE: Please bring a book to class vs. reading a book on your phone. 

1.  Independent Reading -- Please read quietly for 10 minutes. 
    NOTE:  The third book review for this semester will be an ORAL
   REVIEW of the book.  We will begin on Tuesday, January 24th  
   and  finish on the day of the final (Period 1 will be on January 
   25th  and Period 5 will be on January 27th).  We will start on 
   Tuesday so we will be sure to finish on finals day.  

2.  Malala's Nobel Peace Prize Speech 

3.  Tomorrow we will take a closer look at this speech by reading the text and annotating for rhetorical devices.  This is the last speech for this unit.
