Argument

Good Morning!

 Please put your cell phones completely out of sight for the FULL duration of the class.  Please do not have me remind you of this. NOTE: Please bring a book to class vs. reading a book on your phone. 

1.  Independent  Reading -- Please read for a bit before we get started.  

2.  Articles -- We have read three articles that have been on very current issues.  These articles have presented an argument and you are free to differ in your position.  However, before doing that it is important that you know what the text is saying -- to be able to identify main ideas.  THEN (and only then) are you appropriately equipped to make a counter-argument.  The assignments that I have asked you to do have been to recognize these main ideas -- to be accurately knowledgeable of the issue from a particular position.
