Yesterday, you responded to the painting "The Wanderer."  Before we read the text "Leopard Man," we will complete Activity #1, #2, and #3.

LITERACY ASSESSMENT: Only a few of you finished this test yesterday because the netbooks were SO SLOW.  If you did not finish, please do so today.  If you have, please read your independent reading book or work on something else quietly.  Thank you for your patience!

Student Directions: 

  1. Go to: illuminate
  2. Login with your district username and password, the same one you use to login to the netbooks. 
  3. You should see Pending Assessments on the right.
  4. Choose Literacy Interim Assessment -Grade 10.
  5. Read the directions carefully as you work through the assessment. 
  6. Read your book or work on homework for another class when you finish

The following are the directions for you to follow once you log on to your netbook. Go to my blog and click on the provided link below.

Narrative Test

2.  Test on Narrative -- take a few moments to review the terms that you should have in your notebook.  I reviewed them with you yesterday.   When you are done with the test, please read your independent reading book.

3. NOTE -- Tomorrow you will be taking a mandated district literacy test.  It might take two days to complete.

2.  "The Window" -- Explain how the setting contributes to the theme of the story.  What is the theme?  What is the irony?  Use the back of the handout for your responses.

2.  "The Bracelet"  -- This story was assigned to you on Friday and you completed the graphic organizer on the different elements of the story.  We will discuss this assignment, and then I will collect it. 

NOTE:  Test on Narrative Unit will be on Wednesday.  We will review the terms we have used as we read the stories and others that have not been mentioned frequently.  Study the list of terms that you have.

HOMEWORK: 1. Review the list of terms for narrative text
                         2. Independent Reading
