Night Essay

Good Morning!
Please get your assigned netbook when you arrive.

NOTE: Please bring your textbook to class.  I will be reminding you of this through the week.

1. Independent Reading -- The grading period ends May 6.  Book reviews will be due on May 3rd.

2.  Essay on Night -- continue composing your essay on Night.  Be sure to include quoted evidence from the text and parenthetically include the page number.

In several places in Night, Wiesel expresses his deteriorating
faith in God.  It begins at Birkenau when Wiesel fears that he
and his father will be consumed in flames: "For the first time,
I felt revolt rise up in me.  Why should I bless His name? The
Eternal, Lord of the Universe, the All-Powerful and Terrible,
was silent.  What had I to thank Him for?" (31)

Punctuation marks such as periods, commas, and semicolons should appear after the parenthetical citation. Question marks and exclamation points should appear within the quotation marks if they are a part of the quoted passage but after the parenthetical citation if they are a part of your text.Nov 18, 2014
